As you work with all of the planners and contributors helping you design your wedding, it can be hard not to feel like everyone is trying to fit you into a traditional role. you have your own personality, your own character, and your own unique love story that is leading you toward this ceremony. why shouldn't everything in your wedding, from the invitations to the bridal bouquets, be reflective of your personal uniqueness?

One of the ways to ensure that you are showing your true colors is by making an effort to create truly memorable bridal bouquets. you already know from working with others that there are a few tried and true standards that they are going to push you into if you don't assert yourself or discover other options. Fortunately, by going online for bridal bouquet flowers, you will be able to quietly, but firmly, assert your personal independence and find all the options you need to create great bridal bouquets.

Ordering your bridal flowers online presents you with far more options than your local florist ... or that florist your future mother-in-law wants you to use. you will be able to browse for specific colors, sizes, and even breeds of flowers if you choose. This presents you with a full range of opportunities to build a bridal bouquet that will be memorable and something you treasure having created long after the ceremony is over.

You can find both traditional and alternative flowers online for your bridal bouquets. there are full size and miniature roses and calla lilies, but you also have the option to have orchids and mokara. you don't have to settle, in other words. Whatever you've been thinking about or dreaming about can be created with just a few clicks of the mouse.

Even better? these flowers will be shipped straight to you. you don't have to worry about getting them picked up from a shop or sending someone across town to sort out a missed bouquet. You'll have everything you need for your bridal bouquets right on your doorstep.

Don't feel like you have to accept a traditional bridal bouquet plan from someone else. you can make truly memorable bridal bouquets from fresh, beautiful flowers that you choose yourself and order online. when you walk down the aisle, you will be able to hold your bridal bouquet with pride, knowing that it is your own creation and everything you wanted to have.

10 Ways to Save Thousands on your Wedding | Wedding Dress Birmingham

Worried that your perfect wedding will break the bank? Here are 10 ways to have a fabulous wedding, even on a small budget. Remember...it's not how much you spend, but how you spend it!

as a young girl, you probably dreamed of having a picture-perfect fairy tale wedding. You planned and practiced and just waited for Prince Charming to come along and sweep you off our feet. he finally did, and now it's time to turn that dream wedding into a reality. But, yikes! when did weddings get so expensive? During all of that childhood wedding dreaming, money was never an object (because really, is there even money in fairly tale Land? if there is, it probably grows on trees). But don't despair. By using some (or all) of the tips below, you can create a wedding that's tasteful and elegant, even on a small budget.

Budget Bluffing

Set a budget that's slightly smaller than you can actually afford. There are always last-minute expenses that must be met, but if you keep the bulk of your expenses within your predetermined smaller budget, you'll be able to pay for the unexpected costs that pop up.

Choose your Battles

Decide what's most important to you, those one or two things you won't compromise on, whether it be your wedding gown, photographer, invitations or cake. After accounting for this must-have, adjust your budget accordingly and try to keep the remainder of your expenses within it.

Say it Simply

Invitations can easily cost hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. Luckily, it's become quite popular to make your own invitations. the availability of supplies at scrapbooking stores, specialty paper shops and mass retailers makes it easy to find the materials you need. Today's homemade invitations look every bit as elegant as those engraved by a printer, but save you lots of money. Also, for less formal weddings, you can have guests call or email their RSVPs to you, eliminating the need for RSVP cards and their matching stamped envelopes. (Just think: if you send out 100 invitations, you're saving $41 in postage alone.)

Who's Who

Sure, it's tempting to invite your second cousin's third grade teacher, but it will cost you. one of the most effective ways you can cut back on invitation and reception expenses is to cut your guest list. Limit your guest list to close friends and family, not people you haven't seen or talked to since 2nd grade.

Creative Shopping

Dollar stores, thrift stores and garage sales can provide a wealth of low-cost wedding and reception decorations...and they look like they cost full price!Strands of lights, faux florals, linens, balloons and more can be found for extraordinarily low prices at these stores. be sure to look after holidays, as this is when items such as these go on clearance or are donated to thrift stores.

To Updo or not to Updo? that is the question.

Does everyone in your wedding party really have to get their hair and makeup done by mr. Christophe at that exclusive salon? probably not. if you feel you need a special updo, by all means, go for it. After all, you're the bride. otherwise, have your bridal party do their own hair and makeup. Chances are, it will turn out better anyway, since they know what works for them. You'll avoid ending up with bridesmaids that look like very formal clowns with shellacked hair, and save some money, too.

Time is on your side.

Consider having your wedding early afternoon. There's less demand for that time slot, but most importantly, you can get away with serving just cake and punch or small finger foods at the reception. the occasion will seem more intimate, and your guests won't necessarily be expecting a meal (since the reception doesn't fall during a mealtime). best of all, you'll save thousands!

For Everything There is a Season...

...but it might be more cost-effective to get married during the off-season. Spring and summer are the most popular wedding seasons, and prices for venues rise accordingly. Choosing a fall or winter wedding not only gives you beautiful decorating themes to work with, but also offers more affordable venue options.

Party On

Sure, anyone can have a beautiful reception in the ball room of an exclusive hotel. But with a little creativity (think strands of lights, faux ficus trees, candles, etc.,) even the local lodge can be transformed into a beautiful reception location. Remember, the lights are usually dimmed, and your guests are there to celebrate with you, not critique the crystal chandeliers (or lack thereof). Choosing a more affordable reception location will leave you with more money to spend on food, drinks and decorations – or even your new life together.

All Dressed Up

If you're like most brides, you already have a picture of your perfect wedding gown in your head. But if you're really interested in saving money, keep your options open. You might be surprised by how much you like other (translation: less expensive) styles of dresses once you try them on. Plus, less-expensive dresses can often be uniquely embellished and still cost less than the whole Cinderella-type dress. You may also want to check out consignment stores. the wedding gowns you find there have only been worn once, or in some cases, never. You'll save a bundle on a beautiful gown that you'll wear just once, and no one will be the wiser.

Whether you try one or try them all, using the money-saving tips above will help you avoid a mountain of debt as you and Prince Charming embark on your happily ever after.

Throwing A Baby Shower | Go-Go Mum!

This article talks about throwing a party for your pregnant friends. It also talks about a couple of good gift ideas.

Throwing a Baby Shower

Tom Selwick is a fashion designer who has been in the industry since 1991. he specializes in designing baby apparel and recommends (http://www.StayPutSocks.com) for baby socks that stay on.

When you find out that your best friend or one of your relatives is having a baby, then you get so excited for them and start thinking about different ideas that you could use to throw them a party to celebrate. there are so many different themes, party favors, recipes, games, and things that you could incorporate into it.

It can be a lot of fun but it can also be very overwhelming at the same time. there are the invitations to think about and all the people that you can get to help you.

The best tip for throwing this big party for your pregnant friend is to enlist other people to help you. You do not have to do everything yourself and more often than not you will find others who want to help you and would be excited to do so.

The first thing you should do is to sit down and write out a checklist of what needs to be done. Planning out things ahead of time will save you time and money later.

Being organized will keep the whole experience a lot less stressful and make it a lot more fun. a pretty thorough checklist will include the following; guest list, budget, date, location, theme, invitations, directions, menu, cake, decorations, tables and chairs, any entertainment or surprises, game prizes, party favors, plates, cups, utensils, tablecloths, games to play, camera or video recorder, name tags, a gift for the mommy to be, drinks, timeline of activities, ice, flowers, and balloons.

This sounds very expensive and it can get out of control very quickly if you are not careful. Determine what the budget is and who can help you get these things together and pay for it.

After you figure this out, then you can start planning everything else. It might be a good idea to ask the mother, sister, and sister-in-law to help you out if you want to throw this party for your friends. They will want to be involved somehow and can be a great asset to you providing you some relief.

If you start planning this about a month ahead of time, it will give you enough time to get organized and guests enough time to RSVP and plan it into their schedules. the last thing you want to do is wait until the very last minute and not give your guests enough time to plan on coming.

Most people do not appreciate making last minute changes to their schedules, especially if they have kids to run around and a lot of errands to do throughout the week. Depending on your schedules, you want to think about whether you want to have the shower on a weekday or a weekend so that you can have as many guests come as possible.

You might want to include a note with their invitations about going in a group gift which the future moms would appreciate. Some ideas for a group gift are; stroller, car seat, high chair, bed set, crib, bassinet, changing table, or a swing.

Ask the future mommy what she wants and tell her to register at a store because it will make it easier for people to buy gifts for her. she can pick out whatever she wants and needs for her baby and will not have to worry about exchanging all those gifts after the shower is over.

If you have the shower on a weekday, schedule it so that it takes place at night. that way the women can leave their kids home with their spouses to watch the kids and do not have to get a babysitter.

If you plan the shower on the weekend, it is nice to plan it in the early afternoon or morning because most people are not super busy around that time. Whatever you plan to do and however you schedule it, make sure that you invite people that the future mommy wants to have there and that the theme and food are what she would like as well.

Enchanted Expectations: Purple and Silver Bridal Shower

I was only hired to complete the Dessert Buffet, but how could I not take pictures of the other decor which complimented the dessert table perfectly. Check it out!

The invitations were ordered by the Brides sister, Jennifer (not sure of the company). I just took a copy and used it to make the buffet cards. below in the center is the invitation and my buffet cards. I think it was a great match!

The cupcakes worked perfectly with the buffet. These were ordered by Jennifer as well.

This was the table setting, absolutely stunning! Jennifer did a perfect combination of purples to make it look so elegant.

For the favor, Jennifer designed a cookie of her sister as a child, too cute!

Weddings are magical events and sometimes it takes someone with special powers to make it come to life. a wedding magician is a person who provides support and assistance in a variety of ways to ensure the vision becomes a reality for the young couple. In the excitement of the moment many engaged couples lack the understanding of exactly how much work is involved in planning a wedding, but discover it all too soon. Selection of the ceremony and reception sites, choosing from the thousands of invitations available, determining colors, and many other things go into a wedding and can cause much stress if sufficient support is not available or requested.

Those helping to plan the wedding can come from family, friends, or the professional community all of whom may have varied experiences and ideas when it comes to the big day. For many brides, after beginning the planning process and collecting essential elements, they realize how overwhelming the task is, but they can rest assured that there are many people waiting in the wings to be asked to join in pulling the wedding together. For those opting to utilize the services of a professional wedding planner, the sooner they are selected the better as they often need time to contact their vendors and put together a plan that will ensure the vision becomes a reality.

It is not unusual for someone faced with making all the decisions connected to a wedding to feel a little intimidated by all the details involved. asking someone for assistance does not lower anyone's regard for the person involved, rather they admire someone who is willing to ask rather than make unnecessary mistakes. when a person recognizes their own limitations it is a reflection of their personal character and others appreciate that quality in them.

It is common for the bride-to-be to ask her mother or a close relative to assist her in choosing her wedding gown. The color theme for the wedding is sometimes agreed on with the groom, but usually this is the bride's job. The bridesmaids usually accompany the bride in trying on different styles for their dresses with the bride choosing the color. For those who serve in the role of wedding magician, or wedding planner, this selection helps set the theme for the wedding and determines many other elements of the wedding and reception.

The bride and groom together can pick out the invitations and then address and mail them, but this task can become quite tedious. Since they must also choose the church, minister, and honeymoon destination, which are often quite personal choices, utilizing the services of a wedding magician in the form of a planner can alleviate much of the burden with this and many other tasks. a baker must be consulted regarding the wedding cake design and flavors that fit the theme of the overall wedding, the reception site needs to be secured and set up, flowers need to arrive on time, and many other things must come together on a moment's notice on this special day. These things can be done without assistance from someone else, but it's so much nicer to know that there's a little magic at work on the big day.

Many times the bride's parents, who finance the wedding, are overlooked but definitely belong in the Wedding Magician category. not only do they agree with almost everything their daughter decides, but support any reasonable decisions she may make. they are caught up in the excitement of the moment and pass this on to their daughter so she can really enjoy the moment. Additionally, not only financially ensuring the wedding is a magical experience, they also often complete many of the tasks themselves.

Wedding planners definitely know how to wave the magic wand at any wedding and are often well-worth the cost. not only do they eliminate the stress before the wedding by doing much of the planning so the couple can thoroughly enjoy their time together, but they also have a way of pulling it all together in such a way that the bride and groom's vision comes to life. their connection with vendors help save the couple money and they ensure that everything is where it belongs when it's needed. Additionally, they also see to any clean-up details leaving the newlyweds and guests with the opportunity to leave the reception with peace-of-mind.

A wedding magician is any person who can assist the bride and groom to make their wedding a beautiful memory that will last their entire lives. sometimes it is someone hired, sometimes it is family or friends, but in any case, this person or persons involved will make the day seem magical for all involved.

Party Planning Checklist – Five Essentials

Are you planning a party and worried you'll forget something. Believe me when I say it is not a pleasant experience to be in the middle of a party and realize you've forgotten something. it might not even be something that big (and these are usually the things easiest to forget about) like napkins for example, but it would still put a damper on the party. That's why a great tool to use in the preparation process is a party planning checklist. Unfortunately there is no one checklist that works for all kinds of parties. and fortunately there's a very simple and reliable process in creating a checklist. This process involves items involving budget, items involving guests, items involving location, items involving refreshments, and items involving supplies.

The first thing in your checklist should be related to your budget. Write down your budget at the top of your party planning checklist so that while creating your checklist, you will be able to see your budget and plan accordingly. This will help you correctly determine the number of people to invite, supplies, venue, etc.

The next thing on your checklist should be items related to guests. This part of the checklist should have items like creating your guest list, purchasing invitations, having your invitations prepared, and mailing them out. You should include a date which you want all your invitations out by so that your guests will have plenty of notice to save the date in their calendars and RSVP.

Your checklist should also have a section dedicated to your location. if you're holding the party at your home, then this is already taken care of. But you'll still want to have items like what kind of setup will need to be done and how far ahead of time you need to start to be ready in time for the party. if you're booking a venue, you'll need to have items like browsing locations and booking a location. You'll also want a date set for the time you have your location by so that you'll have a date and location set to put on your invitations.

For refreshments you'll need to figure out if you'll be hiring catering. if so, you should have items like getting quotes from different vendors and having the food and price figured out. if you'll be providing the food yourself, you'll need to make a list for what to buy and what needs to be done to get the food prepared.

Finally you'll want to have items such as the supplies you'll need. also, depending on the type of part you're planning, you'll need to include miscellaneous things such as hiring a videographer or photographer. as long as you make a checklist, you don't have to worry about forgetting anything. Even if you're not sure you have considered everything, as long as you start preparing ahead of time and have your party planning checklist made out early, you'll have plenty of time to look things over and add to your checklist.

Bride's Guide: Q&A for the Big Day

    Your Ad Here

It's hard not to sweat the small stuff when you're planning a wedding, but I've gotten to the point where I've stopped worrying so much about some of the smaller details.

Just a few short months ago, I agonized over choosing the perfect font and paper for the invitations, and compulsively revised the language on the directions card.

This week I bought table cards on a whim on my way home from work, and I honestly don't really care whether they match anything else. People are just going to throw them out, right?

I think it's healthy to let go of some of the minor details, but wedding planner Mindy Weiss says there are some small details that make a big difference on your big Day.

Mindy's Tips: Little things That Make a big Difference

    1. You should walk around to the tables at the reception and try to say hello to the guests. when everyone is seated, it's important to take a bite of food and then greet your guests.

This is especially important because my fiance, Mark, and I aren't having a receiving line, which Weiss says is fine.

"It is exhausting and wipes out a lot of my couples," she says, "and standing in one place for an hour ruins your feet for the rest of the night."

    2. Do not forget to thank your parents sometime during the reception.

    3. If you know it is someone's birthday or special anniversary on the day of your wedding, it will make a big impact if you acknowledge that.

    4. Try not to be separated from your new spouse during the evening. Nothing is worse than when a speech starts and either the bride or the groom is nowhere to be found.

    5. It's always nice to write your groom a note before you walk down the aisle. have one of your friends deliver it during the day.

    6. Don't forget that you need to eat during the day, and feed your wedding party if they are hanging with you. also, if the makeup artist and hair dresser are with you all day, it is nice to offer them lunch too. Nothing is worse than a cranky wedding party.

    7. My favorite party favor is a donation in the guests' names to your favorite charity. it is a gift that keeps on giving.

    8. If one of your parents has a favorite song, it is nice to dedicate that song to your mother or father during the evening.

Growing Trend: 'Wedsites' for Nearly Weds

Wedding planners are going online to create wedding websites 'wedsites.' Here are some of the best wedsites on the web.

    Pelpina Trip the 33 News

more nearly weds are ditching RSVP cards for a 'wedsite': a pesonalized site created for the wedding.

Wedsites are popping up everywhere online. From simple RSVP pages to full blown personalized sites with information about the wedding, pictures, and much more.

There are several advantages to taking wedding planning online.First of all, it gives the couple the ability to share much more than they could on a paper invitation. Web sites have endless possibilities: from directions, videos, and photos to gift registry and RSVP opportunities. Online forums and guestbooks also give friends and family a chance to be actively involved in the celebration. It's a way to get to know the groom and bride and their families before the big party takes place. It's also a good way to cut back on costs. Couples are ditching invitations and postage stamps for a free account or soft-prized website. A site at Wedquarters, for example, costs 30 dollars per year.

But of course there are also some disadvantages. People who don't use the internet, say grandma and grandpa, might feel left out. of course, there's always the option to send out a few invitations to the less internet-savvy.Some weddingplanners prefer to keep details private and are concerned about security. That's why several wed sites have the option to password-protect certain pages or the entire site.

And it doesn't have to end with the big day. Many couples keep and maintain their site for years, posting information about the honeymoon, work and kids.
